Brother-in-Arms: A profile of Abdul-Ghani Baradar

Bism-Allah.

I have long wanted to and published this profile of a fascinating Taliban leader, their second-in-command Abdul-Ghani Baradar – who served as a brother-in-arms and second-in-command to several Taliban emirs from his close friend Umar Mujahid to the current emir Hibatullah Akhundzada. Baradar is set to lead at least an interim Afghan regime after a remarkable Taliban conquest that overran the majority of Afghanistan, much of it with little fighting. https://www.trtworld.com/magazine/the-rise-of-the-taliban-s-number-two-mullah-baradar-49246
